WiFi / Bluetooth
OpenNMC uses the Nagami onboard ESP32 for WiFi and Bluetooth.
Interfaces
| Interface | Notes |
|---|---|
| WiFi | The factory-flash script checks for wlan0 after esp32_sdio is loaded |
| Bluetooth | The ESP32 stack is intended to expose a standard HCI device |
Firmware
The ESP32 is provisioned as part of the OpenNMC software stack.
The shipped image uses the esp-hosted package and flashes the SDIO-only firmware bundle from /var/firmware/espressif/esp32-sdio.
Usage
Wi-Fi is managed by NetworkManager, so you can use nmtui or nmcli after the initial console setup.
Bluetooth uses the ESP32-provided HCI device and standard BlueZ tooling.
Hardware Note
The WiFi and Bluetooth antenna connector is RP-SMA and is connected to the Nagami ESP32.
The front-panel label for this interface is WiFi/BT.
