Bootloader Flash

This page documents the image-based flashing path used by OpenNMC.

Factory Installer

The current factory installer flow writes:

• u-boot-sunxi-with-spl.bin to eMMC boot0
• emmc.img to the eMMC user area

The installer boots from install-sdcard.img and is driven by boot.uscr and install.uscr.

Normal bootloader updates are handled by RAUC. Use the SD-card installer only for recovery or factory flashing.

Safety Notes

• do not overwrite the production image without a recovery path
• keep the console connected during any bootloader update
• verify the target storage before writing
